چکیده
We introduce a domain decomposition structure-preserving method based on hybrid mimetic spectral element for three-dimensional linear elasticity problems in curvilinear conforming structured meshes. The is an equilibrium which satisfies pointwise of forces. established through hybridization first allows inter-element normal stress discontinuity and then enforces the continuity using Lagrange multiplier turns out to be displacement trace space. Dual basis functions are employed simplify discretization obtain higher sparsity. Numerical tests supporting presented.

A parallel spectral element method for dynamic three-dimensional nonlinear elasticity problems
We present a high-order method employing Jacobi polynomial-based shape functions, as an alternative to the typical Legendre polynomial-based shape functions in solid mechanics, for solving dynamic threedimensional geometrically nonlinear elasticity problems. We demonstrate that the method has an exponential convergence rate spatially and a second-order accuracy temporally for the four classes o...
متن کاملON MAXWELL'S STRESS FUNCTIONS FOR SOLVING THREE DIMENSIONAL ELASTICITY PROBLEMS IN THE THEORY OF ELASTICITY
The governing equations of three dimensional elasticity problems include the six Beltrami-Michell stress compatibility equations, the three differential equations of equilibrium, and the six material constitutive relations; and these are usually solved subject to the boundary conditions. The system of fifteen differential equations is usually difficult to solve, and simplified methods are usual...
متن کاملHybrid Stress Finite Volume Method for Linear Elasticity Problems
Abstract. A hybrid stress finite volume method is proposed for linear elasticity equations. In this new method, a finite volume formulation is used for the equilibrium equation, and a hybrid stress quadrilateral finite element discretization, with continuous piecewise isoparametric bilinear displacement interpolation and two types of stress approximation modes, is used for the constitutive equa...
متن کاملA Fast Solution Method for Three-dimensional Many-particle Problems of Linear Elasticity
A boundary element method for solving three-dimensional linear elasticity problems that involve a large number of particles embedded in a binder is introduced. The proposed method relies on an iterative solution strategy in which matrix—vector multiplication is performed with the fast multipole method. As a result the method is capable of solving problems with N unknowns using only O(N) memory ...
متن کاملBoundary Element Method for Elasticity Problems
Another general numerical method has recently emerged that provides good computational abilities and has some particular advantages when compared to FEM. The technique known as the boundary element method (BEM) has been widely used by computational mechanics investigators leading to the development of many private and commercial codes. Similar to the finite element method, BEM can analyze many ...
